Year 2 in International Human Resources Management

Objectives

The Master’s degree in International Human Resources Management (MIRH) trains HR expert managers who are capable of evolving in an international and multicultural context.
Taught in English and multicultural, the Master’s in International Human Resources Management develops the skills to manage human resources in an international context.

The teaching staff is made up of research professors, guest researchers and HRM professional speakers (60%), all of whom have international experience.

Once trained, students master current HRM policies (talent management, diversity management, etc.), international practices (e.g. mobility management, international recruitment or compensation & benefits). It also opens up the world (international events and conferences) and develops skills on the current challenges of HRDs (diversity and workplace quality of life, digitalization…).

Content and structure

The course offers support and training in social and professional networks, combined with a network of former students, resulting in high-quality placements and professional integration. 

The project-based teaching method (consultancy project, recruitment simulation, applied case studies) are a plus for the professionalization of students.

The academic year is divided into 2 semesters. The fall semester runs from mid-September through December with exams in December; and the spring semester from January through April with exams in April.

A 5-6 month internship is mandatory in France or anywhere in the world, in an international organisation. 

Career and opportunities

As HRM professions evolve in response to societal changes, the IAE Angers HRM Master’s degree prepares future HR professionals to adopt practices and develop operational strategies. Added to this is the international expertise of the master’s degree, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment, which opens up the possibility of a career and international mobility.

The University of Angers conducts an annual survey of students’ professional integration. The latest survey carried out in 2022 shows that :  

• 100% of graduates have a job within 6 months and 100% within 30 months.
• The median net salary (excluding bonuses) is €2,000.
• The match between job and training is 83,3%.
• 100% have stable employment

Every year, students are offered employment or VIE opportunities as soon as they leave the programme. Job research support is available throughout the year.

Main career opportunities :

• HRM jobs in international organisations, such as International Mobility Officer, Compensation & Benefits Specialist, HR Business Partner, Talent Manager.
• Consulting jobs, such as international recruitment consultant, change manager, transformation consultant, etc.
• More traditional HR functions, such as HR partner or HRM manager.

Under certain conditions, this Master’s degree can be followed by a doctorate in Management Sciences on issues related to the transformation of HRM practices.    

Eligibility

This Master programme (year 2) is open to student with a 4-years of Higher Education level (bac + 4) in Management, Law, Psychology, Sociology. Applicants must have skills in management (training and / or experience). 

Applicants must prove an English language proficiency and certify by submitting a language certificate such as TOEFL or TOEIC.
Citizens  of  Anglo-Saxon  countries  do  not  have  to provide evidence of language proficiency.

All previous transcripts of records along with a CV and a cover letter will be asked when applying. Students will be called in for an interview.

French students, non-exchange international students and international students non affected by the «Etudes en France» procedure must apply through e-Candidat platform.

Non-exchange International students affected by the «Etudes en France» procedure must apply through Campus France platform.
Exchange students must go through their institution to be nominated.

Tuiton fees 

The  University  of  Angers  is  part of  the  French state  university  system. Regular students currently have to pay €243  for  the  entire  academic  year  in  2023-2024. Students also have to pay for the additional Student Life and Campus Contribution (€100) that aims to give more social, health, cultural and sports support to students.
